Mina Evans stormed into the African fashion market in 2010 with the, Jewels & Tulle, collection captured by the popular lifestyle show “Studio 53”.
In an interview Evans, whose full name is Wilhemina says her name in German means resolute protector. “It really does describe me as I am all about protecting and standing up for those I care about. Loyalty is important to me. Everyone calls me Mina though, and that means love.” She added.
Evans-Anfom was consumed by her passion for fashion. Having graduated from London Centre for Fashion Studies under Northumbria School of Design, Design School Southern Africa, Johannesburg and gaining more experience under Ghana’s veteran fashion designer; Mr. Kofi Ansah, Mina was ready to launch Mina Evans as a luxury fashion brand in 2010. The brand unveils Evans-Anfom’s love of fusing luxurious fabrics with Ankara, the brand’s custom tie-dye and intricate handpicked embellishments and beads to produce classic, feminine, stylish and flawless pieces that are wearable time after time.
The brand also has a menswear dress shirt range which is carefree and cool with a hint of afrocentricity.
