After completing her training at the Durban University of Technology and qualifying with the Student of the Year Award and Daphne Strut memorial prize, Kathrin Kidger went on to win the Durban Designer Collection 2004 (New Generation Category). This announced her future in the SA fashion industry by securing a coveted slot in SA Fashion Week.
After a successful 2004, Kathrin Kidger established her diffusion label, Reine. It was only after winning the Smirnoff Red Fashion Awards 2004, however, that she was able to focus her full attention on her signature label Kathrin Kidger. Having received “Best Newcomer of the year” as voted by the SA Fashion Handbook in 2005, Kathrin prides herself on creating gorgeous pieces with which woman can’t help but fall in love.
Kidger specialises in upscale ladies wear, aimed at the South African moderate market.
Producing clothes locally and proudly reflecting her southern African heritage are priorities. Her range of proudly South African made garments is available at her Flagship store in Gateway Theatre of Shopping.
One of her unique selling points is an in-house CMT (Cut, Make and Trim) facility that speeds up turnarounds and enables the quality of our garments to be better than most other independent design agencies.
