azola_tanzi“It is about time that the rest of the country sees just how much talent
there is in Durban. The DFF helps a lot of designers get their names out
there and it is a great platform for all designers who want to grow in the
fashion industry.”

Azola Tanzi specialises in ladies wear under the brand House of Azee
Turnzee.

Describing herself as hard to read, fun and very laid back; she is no
stranger to hard work and graduated from the Lindiwe Kuzwayo Academy of
Fashion in 2013.

Her style is timeless and classy with a little bit of sexiness and she is
inspired to design by her feelings at a particular time, nature and the
diversity of African culture.

The design of which she is most proud is a high collar blazer made from
white brocade. Her favourite local designer is Paledi Segapo, also known as
Palse.
The local and international celebrities that she would most like to dress
are Terri Peto and Kerri Washington respectively. The reason for her choice
is that these women are classy yet not afraid to be sexy.

Although she doesn’t always design for herself, she says her clothing does
reflect her personal style and she does wear her own creations.

The fashion trends that she is celebrating right now are quintessentially
African and includes the use of beadwork.
