The DFF Recognition Awards hosted by Gagasi FM on air personality Collen Zondo and Top Billing presenter, Ayanda Thabethe at the Durban ICC on Saturday, 26 August at 19h00 will recognise top achievers, comprising of the Durban Fashion Legend of the year, Best Ladies’ Wear Collection, Best Menswear Collection, Emerging Durban Designer of the year, Fashion Innovator, Collection of the Week, Three rising stars (top 2017 mentees), the Fashion Business Award, DFF New Face Award, Best African Designer Collection and Durban Designer of the Year.
Show goers can visit the DFF Pop Up Shops during the fashion fair weekend, from 23-26 August 2017. Designers, fashion and textile retailers will be showcasing and selling their products within the show entrance area. The pop up shops will be open from 18h00 to 22h00 nightly.
The fashion shows will feature over 40 designers including 6 from Africa and popular names within the South African Fashion Industry. 15 shows will take place from Wednesday, 23 August 2017 to Friday, 25 August 2017 and will culminate in the DFF Recognition Awards on Saturday, 26 August 2017. All shows will be hosted at Durban International Convention Centre (Durban ICC). Tickets are available at webtickets.co.za or selected Pick n Pay outlets.
Leading industry players within the fashion related industry will discuss the “Business of Fashion at a panel discussion on Friday, 25 August between 09h30 and 12 noon in Hall 5 at the ICC. Panellists include Linda Makanya; Paledi Segapo; Noёl Paulson; Lukas Nangolo; Masana Chikeka and Peta-Lee Matjaola, and will be facilitated by Top Billing presenter Ayanda Thabethe.
